THIS is how the members of the Bar 'take care' of each other.
I read the court file yesterday. Christopher Perry, a Phoenix foreclosure lawyer who pulled thousands of people from their homes, killed a woman about a year ago when he was driving drunk. Perry attempted to flee the scene after stopping to look at the dead woman. Citizens and a police officer chased him down on foot.
Perry refused a breath test so the Phx PD obtained a search warrant for a blood draw. More than two hours after his arrest, Perry had a blood alcohol of .31 percent, FOUR TIMES the presumptive level in Arizona. He was this drunk by noon! Perry also admitted taking Oxycodone.
After a year of maneuvering, Perry was sentenced yesterday to 1.5 years in Arizona State Prison and 3 years subsequent probation. The Judge nicely asked that the Arizona Department of Corrections to place Perry in a ‘private prison’ due to his former status as a lawyer.
Perry, known for his aggressive take no prisoner style of forcing people from their homes – killed a woman and injured her husband while driving drunk, fled the scene, fought with the police, refused a breath test, and received a sentence reserved usually for petty criminals.
Crime does pay. This IS YOUR criminal justice system in action. This is outrageous.
