In virtually every foreclosure judgment I see, the judgment entry, prepared by the lender's counsel, grants judgment for the principal due, plus interest and late charges, as well as taxes, insurance and other advances.  The amounts advanced, however, are never itemized in the complaint or judgment entry.  The cited case held that such an entry is void.  Without actual numbers for the monies advanced, the judgment entry is vague and not enforceable. 

This gives people a chance to attempt to reopen their foreclosure cases. Keep in mind, a void judgment has no effect.  Thus, potentially, even after the foreclosure sale, the entire case could be attacked.  Judge's will not like reopening cases and perhaps trying to reverse sales, so don't expect too much luck with such attacks, but it is something to work with.
