Anybody know what a "Plea in Abatement" would do in regards to standing?

Texas I do not really understand your question.  Pleas in abatement are dilatory pleas and have fallen into disuse in many places, but are still used in Texas and a handful of other places.

One leading Texas case on pleas in abatement is:

Wyatt v. Shaw Plumbing Co., 760 S.W.2d 245 (Tex. 1988)
http://scholar.google.com/scholar_case?case=14748097518568604412

If you are able to give any more illustrative details, even if somewhat disguised as to place and situation (think of a good analogy), perhaps we could help you find a better and more applicable expostion.

You might find some additional help in either on of the cases cited within Wyatt or by looking at Texas cases that cite Wyatt:

Good luck!
