Anybody know what a "Plea in Abatement" would do in regards to standing?

Texas I do not really understand your question.  Pleas in abatement are dilatory pleas and have fallen into disuse in many places, but are still used in Texas and a handful of other places.

One leading Texas case on pleas in abatement is:

Wyatt v. Shaw Plumbing Co., 760 S.W.2d 245 (Tex. 1988)

If you are able to give any more illustrative details, even if somewhat disguised as to place and situation (think of a good analogy), perhaps we could help you find a better and more applicable expostion.

You might find some additional help in either on of the cases cited within Wyatt or by looking at Texas cases that cite Wyatt:,44&sciodt=4,44&hl=en

Good luck!
