Can anyone help us? We need neighborhood enforceable laws!
Our neighborhood of 84 homes located on the South side of Indianapolis, IN is comprised of about 60% foreclosed properties.
We experienced 4 different builders and the final builder went bankrupt and the principals were indicted for Mortgage Fraud among other infractions with the zoning boards and city planners. Example: One entire multi-family building containing 4 units was not even platted. We wonder how they even got the inspections passed on the construction. Believe me they knew all of the tricks. Unbelievable!
The final builder also posed themselves as a management company and they allowed the homes to go into foreclosure while collecting rents under the table from college students, and very poor families with many children. Some of those managers from the last company are still squatting in our neighborhood and have been there rent free for up to 2 years or more. The detangling of the mortgage fraud game and the responsible parties has taken years to end. Finally now in the next few months some of those properties are going to our Civil Sheriff's Auction. 4 and 5 unrelated people are living in these small units and most of them have several cars with no spaces available for them to part. Many of the residents have cars that are junk (with broken windows and no tires) just sitting there for all of us to enjoy viewing in the yards and driveways and streets. We are so exhausted trying to get help with these issues.
