The Massachusetts Attorney General has shut down one of the leading mortgage scams being perpetrated in the state, an operation that promised help with Bankruptcy filings, while actually just taking borrower's money and ripping them off. This story was reported in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune:

As the newspaper article explains, the United States Trustee's Office is increasingly becoming involved in Bankruptcy related mortgage scams. If someone contacts you offering to prepare Bankruptcy paperwork, make sure the person is a licensed attorney and check for complaints or disciplinary actions.

If you are ripped off, be sure to contact the United States Trustee, as well as bounty and state prosecutors.

Isn't it interesting that every time someone posts additional information about foreclosure related scams and frauds that Sharon hops in to try to discredit the post or the contributor?  It seems as though just about everyone has become fed up with the Forum and left, leaving only the cheerleaders for the scam artists to monopolize the Forum.  How sad.
