Dear AFFIL Members,

Last week, presidential candidates Senator John Edwards, Senator Barack Obama and Governor Bill Richardson joined many of you in endorsing AFFIL's Principles of Fairness in Lending.  This is great news, because as we all know, it's critical that the next president understand the devastating effects America's unregulated lending industry has had on hard-working Americans.  You can read the candidates' statements online, and please thank them for their important endorsements.  And of course, Endorse the Principles yourself if you haven't yet.

AFFIL has asked the candidates of both major parties for their endorsements of our Principles by phone, email and post.  We're sending law students to follow up on this request in person at Iowa campaign events.  Stay tuned for the results at - and if you live in Iowa and want to participate, please let us know!  Feel free to ask your favorite candidate for her or his endorsement, if we don't have it already.

Stay tuned!  And thanks again for your participation in AFFIL.
