Imagine finding out the property you have owned for decades is now listed as being owned by someone else.

That’s what happened in an apparent deed fraud involving a couple in their 70’s, who say they were swindled.

The couple has owned the property free and clear since the 1980’s, but a woman filed what appears to be forged papers with the property appraiser's office, and now she legally owns the property.

The couple is going to the state attorney’s office in hopes that criminal charges will be filed, but in the meantime, the woman remains the legal owner.

It appears there are more potential victims.

We are working on this story and will have more details tonight at 6 p.m.
